Morphine was undeniably one of the coolest bands in the world… and no one since has come close to capturing the magic in a bottle the trio conjured; that is, until surviving members Dana Colley (a true rock ‘n roll horn bad-ass, if there ever were one) and Jerome Deupree (with the chops of Mitch Mitchell) got together with guitarist Jeremy Lyons to form The Elastic Waste Band. They have a lot of their own stuff to say, but you know they can still tear up the old material that so many of us will never, ever forget… Don’t kick yourself the next day for missing this one.

The songs are quite unique and wonderful as the instrument choices are good and they are played through some electronics which add some subtle textures to the mix. The singing is low key and surprisingly evocative. There is a droll quality to this band in some of the songs and certainly in the engaging stage patter. They really nail a mood and pull the audience in.
