Northeast and New Orleans

Wednesday, April 13th, 2011

Some good shows in the month of April! (And other good news as well!)

Members of Morphine & Jeremy Lyons will be headlining the Narrows in Fall River, Mass on April 14, and then playing an early show at Sally O’Brien’s in Somerville, MA on Saturday, April 16. The “psycho-delta” trio of electric baritone sax, drums and two-string bass are next seen playing in New Orleans at dba on Frenchmen St on Friday, April 22. After a two-week break they will be back at their weekly Wednesday residency at Atwood’s Tavern in Cambridge.

Jeremy will be reuniting with the original Deltabilly Boys (Greg Schatz and Paul Santopadre) for two public shows in New Orleans: Wednesday, April 20 at 7 pm is an acoustic show at The Three Muses restaurant (JL will also appear there solo the following Monday). Sunday, April 24 will be a full tilt, electric Deltabilly show at dba.

To top it off, Jeremy plays Jazz Fest at the Chouest Family Kids Tent on Sunday, May 1 at 5 pm!

In other exciting news, Jeremy will be taking the session files (no more “tapes”) of his new solo album with him to New Orleans to be mixed by Grammy Award winner Mark Bingham at Piety Recording in the Bywater, New Orleans. This still untitled work is the long-anticipated follow up the 2007′s Death of a Streetsinger, which was completed shortly before Katrina precipitated Lyons’ move North. We hope to have the record released in the fall.

Cutting New Tracks

Wednesday, February 23rd, 2011

Work has begun on two Jeremy Lyons projects: the long-awaited solo album of mostly original material, and a follow-up to Delta-Silly Music for Kids. Both CDs have been in the planning stage for some time; both are being recorded at multiple studios. As if working on two projects concurrently were not enough, plans are also in the works for a second album for Jeremy and Members of Morphine Dana Colley and Jerome Deupree.

Please check out the “Tour” page for updated gig listing.

Musical Peas and Cabbage to start the New Year right

Thursday, December 30th, 2010

Hi Friends,

This Saturday, 1/1/11. You need some musical Peas and Cabbage to start the New Year right.

I’m honored to fill in for my old New Orleans friend Anders Osborne at the Narrows Center for the Arts in Fall River, MA — a truly fabulous performance space. I’ll be headlining a bill that includes these talented folk ‘n blues artists: Louis Leeman, Curtis Prince, and Mark T. Small.

This show is only $10. Yessir. I said $10. You can even bring your own beverages.

I hope to see you there. Regardless, the very best wishes to you and yours for the New Year.
